BRIEF HISTORY OF LUBO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Catering the educational needs of the barangay across the Chico River, on June 6, 2006, Sto. Niño National High School - Lubo Extension was born. This was made possible through the persistence of Mr. Daniel R. Prudenciano, principal of SNHS, Atty. Vicente G. Pagurayan, the Local Chief Executive, the members of the legislative body of the Local Government Unit of Sto. Niño, the barangay officials of Lubo headed by Barangay Captain Rosendo Baliuag, and the parents.

On its first year of operation, it had 7 feeder barangays—Lubo, Lattac, Tabang, Cabayu, Niug Sur, Mapitac, and Sta. Maria. The barangays are hilly and mountainous, located along the Chico River. To reach places like Tabang, Mapitac, and Cabayu, one had to cross the river using a boat or raft, then hike, as they were not accessible by transportation. It had 72 pioneer learners. Mr. Prudenciano recommended the late Mrs. Marita C. Cardona, Master Teacher II, to be designated as Teacher-in-Charge. With her were six dedicated teachers: Mr. Edison T. San Andres, Mrs. Precilla P. Baquiran, Mrs. Lermalyn C. Marcos, Mrs. Karen Ann S. Tejada, Mrs. Agnes C. Moralla, and Mrs. Richelle Camayo.

As years passed, more learners enrolled and the school eventually completed all four year levels. Memorable activities and events were held, and new faculty joined the team. These included Mr. Wilfrend B. Calano, Mrs. Reynalyn Lagutan, Mr. Marvin R. Romias, Mrs. Myrose S. Corpuz, Mrs. Ronalyn C. Sadac, Mr. Marlihito Collado, Mrs. Maria Elizabeth P. Bonifacio, and Mr. John Mark P. Echon. Some teachers also moved on to other paths, including Mrs. Richelle Cammayo, Mrs. Agnes C. Moralla, Mrs. Lermalyn C. Marcos, Mr. Eliflor Catolos, Mr. Rodel Rico, Mr. Bannie Tejada, Mrs. Rechelle Peregrino, Mrs. Maurene Medico, Mrs. Cristel Pascua-Masicolan, Mrs. Karen Ann Tejada, Mr. Jhun Kris Cristobal, Ms. Sharlene Alvarez, and Ms. Joan Edsel V. Aguino.

On August 6, 2016, the Lubo Extension officially became an independent general high school named Lubo National High School.

Though still young, LNHS has made a name for itself, standing proudly alongside older schools in the division. It is a consistent winner in both curricular and extracurricular competitions.

The school also sought approval to offer Senior High School and was granted permission to offer the TVL-Information Communications Technology (ICT) strand, specifically Computer Systems Servicing, beginning with 24 pioneer learners in SY 2016-2017.

Lubo National High School continuously upholds the mission, vision, and core values of the Department of Education and promises to keep the tradition alive—the tradition of E X C E L L E N C E … Now and forever.
